Beeswax Nativity: Colorful, Easy and Stands the Test of Time

My 11 and 12 year old made these beeswax sets two years ago and I still have them up in a lighted bookcase. They are beautiful and stand the test of time. This is a great beeswax activity to do at the holidays when you are reading stories over advent. I kept both of these pictures big so you could see the artistic differences- my daughter has them standing with halos and my son has them kneeling with head scarves and animals. Each year my kids work on different nativity scenes but next year when they turn 12 and 13 I will give them permanent clay to work with, as I think they maybe ready for the next step! If carving the candle pyramid out of wood goes well, then wood might be the next level after that as my son just got a beautiful woodcarving set for his birthday and he is wanting to learn how to use it......
