Starting a Band with Your Children: Creative Musical Progression

This is a video from my children's performance in Ann Arbor. This was a fun project that we did together.  My children formed a band last year after I took them to a AGT audition in Chicago.  They came home inspired and also wanting to work together-which is highly unusual for them....the guitar part was supposed to be played by my seven year old but he got scared last minute.  I filled in, but it was very cool that my kids let me in and still think I am cool enough to be apart of their lives like this.  I hope it will last but the teen years are coming.  Now my daughter and I are working on a Heart song together....if you want music to be a part of your childrens life- the love and creativity of it has to come from you and no one else.  I started singing and teaching the kids piano when they were very young and thus, they are growing into their own musical entities.  I can already see the differences and individuality coming through. I will be blogging soon about the singing project something I started in 2008 with my kids.
