Here is the little lamb I made for my seven year old's birthday this summer-the instructions were easy to follow and I got them from Freya Jaffke's book above. I used a mixture of silk yarn with cream mohair, and by using the garter stitch I created a delightfully bushy lamb look. My son loved it and now my older children are knitting their own. My daughter says it looks more like a polar bear-so call it what you want, LOL. This is a great and easy project and makes a nice gift. My friend Linda Dawkins has an etsy shop and makes and sells these animals-if you would still like one but not quite ready to make one your self. Please visit Linda's shop to see all the wonderful animals and knitted crafts she has to offer:

Your lamb turned out just beautiful! I do have Freya's book, but am one of those knit-a-phobes :D but maybe I'll try this one since you made it look less intimidating. And yes, I have purchased Linda's knitted animals and they are so loved by my children. She has a wonderful etsy shop. I just found your blog, thanks to Our Little Nature Nest, though I already have your music program through Kristie's membership & we're enjoying it! How fun! Have a wonderful weekend & thanks for sharing your talents. Jen
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, Nice to connect with you! I would like to start putting recommended blogs on here-linda, natures nest, and Jennifer Tan-but I am still trying to figure this blogger out! I am curious when you bought the music program through Kritie's group? I seldom get updates anymore, so it is really refreshing to get a kind note from someone who is using it :) Thank you dear homeschooling sister...look me up on facebook...
