The Wynstone Press Waldorf Season books are enlightening. These books are filled with stories, pentatonic music and poems. They continue to inspire the older children and my youngest. However, I did see the 11 and 12 year old move farther away from it this year. For three years in a row the older children would make block crayon pictures to go along with the poems in the book, then they would write the poem in uncial, this is the calligraphy used in the Waldorf schools based on medieval celtic fonts. I have several beautiful books the older children have made. For my youngest son, who is 7.5 he enjoys listening to the stories and playing the songs on his flute while I sing and vice versa. I especially like the season garden song- the same one they use in all the books but change the season name, so much so that I use it in my music/sound therapy classes with children in my office. I have a video on it on youtube that I will also post here and I will post here of some of the poems and music that they have done from the books. If you have not made the investment in these small little books of treasury- do so! If you like this blog check out my homeschooling page on my website beyondnaturalmedicine.com
